Digital Manufacturing Applications for Complex Processes
Topics: Sharing of China Unicom 5G+ Industrial Internet Capability
SMAS|5G
Chengyu Wu, Senior Solution Manager of Jiangsu Unicom Industrial Internet BU, will share and demonstrate the case of “Sharing of China Unicom 5G+ Industrial Internet Capability” on SMAS event.
The case will show how China Unicom cooperated with Xuzhou Heavy Industry to build a high-end smart factory. XCMG’s new factory is a high-end smart factory based on XCMG’s intelligent manufacturing mode, and a cooperation between China Unicom and Xuzhou Heavy Machinery. Focusing on the two central tasks of ‘innovation-driven’ and ‘improving quality and efficiency’, China Unicom places MEC edge processors in the new factory to realize a fully-connected 5G factory network with edge computing nodes as servers, and at the same time use network slicing technology to empower factory production network applications and information network applications, deploy VCN independent private networks, separate enterprise users from individual users and make sure that enterprise core data does not leave the park. While ensuring the delay, it improves the security of data exchange between enterprise networked collaborative applications.
Topics: HUAWEI “5G+ Enterprise Intelligence”
SMAS|5G
Jun He, Senior Solution Architect of Huawei Cloud EI, will share and demonstrate the case of “HUAWEI “5G+ Enterprise Intelligence””on SMAS event.
From the sharing, you will learn that With the development of 5G, a high-performance mobile network with super connectivity, ultra-bandwidth and low latency can be provided. After deep integration with the industry, it can drive the digitization of the industry, which can generate more industrial applications and improve the efficiency of the industry. Artificial intelligence is a new general-purpose technology that spans multiple uses across the economy, achieving huge technical complementary and spillover effects. Through the combination of 5G+AI technology, special application scenarios of the industry can be realized and problems caused by technical barriers can be effectively solved.
SMAS Showcase|Use Case of the SMAS Application Guideline in a Plant in Suzhou
A world class medical OEM supplier from Germany with a global reach is operating a plant in Suzhou China. Due to the small size and the limited scope, the local plant did neither see digital solutions as a relevant tool to improve competitiveness in operations nor did did apply yet any technologies beside the ERP system. How does the factory use the SMAS application guide to achieve digital transformation and build a smart factory step by step?
Florian Weihard, CTO of ruhlamat Automation Technologies (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., GM of Suzhou ruhlamat Smart Technologies Co., Ltd., Vice Chairman of the Board of DUSA Association, Co-initiator of SMAS, will share and demonstrate the case of “Use Case of the SMAS Application Guideline in a Plant in Suzhou”.
SMAS Showcase|Practical Digitization Use-cases for an SME Environment
Frank Gänzle, Managing Partner of Startup Factory Kunshan Co. Ltd., will share and demonstrate the case of “Practical Digitization Use-cases for an SME Environment” on SMAS event.
SMAS Showcase|How to optimize your plant maintenance with smart technologies
SMAS|Digital Twin
Plant maintenance presents good ROI potential in China, especially in times of crisis, as it is seldom optimized! There is strong demand from industrial SMEs for maintenance improvement (downtime, reduction, cost control, regulatory compliance) through the use of 4.0 technologies.
Guillaume Gimonet, COO of Siveco China, will give a speech on "How to optimize your plant maintenance with smart technologies?". Siveco will hold a live demo showcase its Maintenance 4.0 solution addressing the typical maintenance concerns of industrial SMEs in China.
SMAS Showcase|A practical implementation of AR on production lines
SMAS | Augmented Reality
Today modern plants and factories have different levels of automation and digitization. But all of them have many manual workflows for production, maintenance, quality, safety and training. While most plants might already be digitized at the level of ERP, on the work floor they are often still managed on paper manually synchronized with spreadsheets and other applications. And even the parts of the plants that have been automated are often poorly interconnected. With the maturing of AR technology these plants will have all their workflows mapped and digitized. So how does AR integrate virtual signage and operation interface? How is it applied to the production line?
Davy Demeyer, Smart Manufacturing Expert, will share and demonstrate the case of “A practical implementation of AR on production lines” at the 3rd SMAS Forum on October 22, 2020.
SMAS Showcase|Enhancing Lean Production by Smart Manufacturing solutions
SMAS | MES Software
The past decades of industrial production have been characterized by a wave of implementing lean production. In the current VUCA world, the application of lean principles seems to reach some limits, so how to strengthen these principles through the concept of intelligent manufacturing?
Dr. Tobias Arndt, General Manager of GAMI and Representative of KIT in China, will share and demonstrate the case of “Enhancing Lean Production by Smart Manufacturing solutions”.
SMAS Showcase|How Neural Network Vision transforms Production Inspection Applications
SMAS | Neural Network Vision
Quality becomes an extremely key deliverable which cannot be just driven by human inspection. How to detect defects through neural network vision to improve product quality?
Lukas Froebus, the manufacturing data analyst of ruhlamat (Suzhou) will share and demonstrate the case of “How Neural Network Vision transforms Production Inspection Applications” at the 3rd SMAS Forum on October 22, 2020.

SMAS INVITAION
Topic: Practical Smart Manufacturing Innovation for SMEs
When: 2020.10.22
Where: Suzhou Jiangsu
We are delighted to invite you to attend the 3rd SMAS Forum on October 22, 2020.
Especially SMEs need affordable and scalable solutions to leverage Smart Manufacturing Technologies for their businesses with a reasonable fast tangible benefit and the possibility for step-by-step implementation. While the Smart Manufacturing Technologies are getting more and more advanced, the actual implementation remains a very big challenge to the small and medium size plants. This year’s Forum is around "Practical Smart Manufacturing Innovations for SMEs" organized in cooperation with our partners.
Highlight
Beside the Keynote speech, eight companies and organizations will demonstrate their Innovations on their booths to give the opportunity to hands-on explore and experience the Technologies and Solutions.
